EMMET LEGO HEAD CAKE

Lego is still a favourite for many kids!  I had the opportunity to do my first ever Lego head!  And even better, it was Emmet!!  Although, Emmet was harder than it looked.  In order for the head to be a 3D effect, I had to make it a 2 tier cake.  I was afraid that if I put 2 thick layers on top of each other, the cake would collapse because of its weight. I also was having a hard time deciding whether Emmet would wear his construction hat or just have a head of hair.  I kind of regretted it at the end as I had to colour a good amount of fondant due to the size of the cake.  The cake pan I used was a 10 inch pan and about 3 inches in height, so you can imagine how big Emmet's head was.  I finally ended up choosing the Emmet with hair.  The final result was just okay for me but I definitely know my areas of improvement if I ever make a lego head again!
